Cold Weather Is Coming

Winterizing your vehicles is very important, surprisingly, only about 30% of drivers “Winterize” their vehicles. This means only 30% of you are saving money during the winter, and who doesn’t like money? In order to winterize your vehicle, you should check a few things routinely and ensure fluids are at certain heights – also, make sure you bring a back-up bag (Including a first aid kit, non-perishable food items, water, blankets, gloves, and anything else you think you might need).

Make sure to check your battery before you set out anywhere on the road, you wouldn’t want to get stuck in a parking lot; much less on the side of the road. If you’re not sure how to check your battery, stop by Midwest Auto and Diesel Repair and we’d be happy to keep you safe! While you’re there, make sure you check your tire pressure – if you’re not sure how to do that either, it’s simple! Look for the next event of one of our “Pink Parties” for a personal training event and all-questions-accepted get together.

We know gas can be expensive, but it’s better safe than sorry. Make sure to always keep your gas tank during the winter at least half full. It helps the truck to be able to start, and it’s enough to get you where you need to go safely. Every 3,000 miles you should have your oil checked; not only that, but check every filter. We know it seems more frequent than usual, but it can help prevent more expensive repairs in the future.
